Animal Encounters

Our Animal Encounters show with Charles takes a look at each part of the animal kingdom with some very interesting and unusual animals. Many of the animals shown are unique and are not usually kept as pets.

Children's birthday parties

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have a massive selection of the most spectacular animals visit just for you? Well, this is it! A floor covering will be used which the guests will sit around in a horse-shoe shape. Charles will sit on the fourth side with whoever's special day it is - the birthday boy or girl will get to handle all of the animals! The show is suitable for around 15 guests plus family members as the idea is to give everyone the most opportunity to interact and handle the animals while Charles talks about them. The show is suitable where the birthday child is going to be 9 or over - this can include adult parties!!

Adult parties 

Animal Encounters is also great for cocktail parties or parties where a structured show is not so practical. In these circumstances we can walk around your event with a selection of animals, mingling with and talking to guests, allowing them to handle and learn about the different creatures. We can also do an informal talk to all of the guests, this can work well for special birthdays and anniversary parties and other special events.

Education 

Charles coordinates most of our educational work. Our aim here is to cover all of the wildlife aspects of the national curriculum within the presentation. We also continue our aim of getting members of the audience to handle the animals and to tell the rest of the group about their experience.

We offer presentations for nursery, primary and secondary levels. The presentations can be for class sizes, year groups or even where we can take over the school assembly. We also have worksheets that can be used in follow-up sessions in class after the presentation.

Care homes 

We have found that Animal Encounters has become very popular in care and residential homes.  Charles' calm but fun nature allows residents to enjoy something completely different from most visitors. Children and grandchildren are more than welcome too which allows for a very informal and relaxed occasion with lots of smiles all round!

Special needs groups 

Taking animals along to a special needs group provides a great visual and

sensory experience and is suitable for everyone whether physically or mentally impaired. We are all very experienced in this field and so have become very popular with special needs schools, groups and charities. Youth groups 

Wildlife forms a big part of many youth groups such as Scouts, Guides, Cubs, Brownies and Beavers etc.  Animal Encounters allows the children to get up close and personal to each animal and could be a valuable tool in backing up the work the children will be doing under the national curriculum at school. Fetes and fairs

Every year, Animal Encounters gets many bookings to attend fetes and fairs. It can be a great way to raise funds as we recommend making a charge to see the shows. Instead of providing a one hour or one and a half hour show, we can split the shows into shorter 20 or 30 minute shows. Doing several shorter shows may make some more money for event and will potentially keep customers at the event for longer and therefore spending more money!
